Giving Slowly Rebounds.

Numerous groups expanded their fund-raising staffs so they could
become more aggressive in seeking big gifts of cash or stock, as
well as bequests and other planned gifts. Others concentrated on
training fund raisers to solicit donors for other less-common
gifts, such as real estate, stock in family-owned businesses, or
intellectual property. And some organizations stepped up their
efforts to seek donations from people they had not previously
focused on, such as wealthy women and baby boomers.
